What we buy
Whether it is a single earring, a broken chain or a drawer of pieces you no longer wear, you are welcome to enquire.
Not every item can be bought. Whether we can make an offer depends on assessment of the metal, its fineness and weight, and the applicable terms.
How it works
A calm, clear process from your first enquiry to a decision that is entirely yours.
Call or complete the enquiry form with a description of your items. Photos are welcome but optional.
We confirm the next step with you — sending by the agreed postal method or arranging a collection where available.
Your items are assessed and an offer is made. If you choose to accept, payment follows under the applicable terms.
Transparency
There are no headline rates or guarantees here. A valuation depends on what your items are made of, how much they weigh and what assessment shows. You stay in control: nothing is sold until you have reviewed the offer and chosen to accept it.
The type of metal and its fineness — for example 9ct, 18ct or 22ct gold — strongly influence value.
The weight of precious metal in an item is a key part of how any offer is calculated.
Each item is examined individually. Stones, fittings and non-gold parts are taken into account.
You receive an offer to consider. Please review it, and the applicable terms, before agreeing to sell.
Hallmarking explained
Hallmarks and fineness marks are tiny stamps, often inside a ring band or near a clasp. They can help identify the precious-metal content of an item.
A UK hallmark usually includes a sponsor's mark, a fineness mark and an assay office mark. Gold fineness is shown in parts per thousand — the examples opposite are common.
Not every item will carry a hallmark. UK hallmarking rules include exemptions, for instance for some lighter items, and older or overseas pieces may be marked differently or not at all. A missing mark does not mean an item cannot be considered.
Ultimately, it is assessment — not the presence of a mark — that determines what can be bought.
For general guidance only. Marks can be worn, unclear or inaccurate, which is why every item is assessed.
Gold collection
Ask about a collection and tell us about your items. We will confirm whether one can be arranged for your area and explain each step before anything happens.
Coverage and arrangements are confirmed with you directly when you enquire.
